Ali Weston

Play Therapist

I am a qualified Play Therapist with over 20 years’ experience working with children and young people with a wide range of needs. I use a child-led, integrated and holistic approach, providing a safe and supportive space where children can explore their feelings, develop self-awareness, emotional resilience and confidence, and build positive strategies for managing emotions and relationships.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Play Therapy and I am registered with play Therapy UK (PTUK).

PTUK register:  https//playtherapyregister.org.uk/contact/alison-weston/

Before training as a Play Therapist, I worked as a primary school teacher, giving me extensive experience of children’s development and the emotional, social and educational challenges they may face.  My background in education, combined with my therapeutic training, has given me a strong understanding of the individual needs of children and the importance of creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Through Play Therapy, I provide a warm, safe and supportive, non-judgemental environment where children can explore and express their feelings and experiences through play and creative arts.  I support children experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties and I am passionate about helping children feel heard, understood and supported.  I recognise that every child is unique and tailor my therapeutic approach to each child’s individual needs.

I offer 1:1 and group Play Therapy sessions to children aged 4-12
